WASHING & DRYING
Before washing, thoroughly brush hair while always holding the fastened area to remove any tangles. Gently hand wash with sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoo and lukewarm water. Never rub the ends of the hair together while washing. Repeat as needed, then add conditioner starting at the ends combing through while holding at the root and leave in for 5 minutes. Avoid getting conditioner on the roots of the extensions only combing it up.
Be sure to completely rinse shampoo and conditioner.
Gently squeeze out excess water and blot with a cotton towel. Use a wet brush or large wide tooth comb to detangle while extensions are damp.
Gracie James extensions are beautiful air-dried and can also be blow-dried using a vent brush, boar's hair bristle brush, wet brush, round brush flat iron, or curling iron.
Brush regularly! While you are brushing, hold the base of scalp where the extensions have been installed on the natural hair with the opposite hand.
For best results, we recommend the following when caring for your extensions:
Use only sulfate-free and paraben-free products
Use spray leave-in-conditioner or moisturizer on extensions to keep from tangling and oil ends to prevent drying out
Braid extensions before sleeping or bed
Sleep on silk pillowcase
For all water activities we suggest you do the following to protect your hair:
Wet your hair and apply conditioner before entering an ocean, lake or pool.
Detangling and braiding are recommended before entering water and then rinse immediately after leaving the water.
Clarifying shampoo can be used after chlorine exposure
There are chemicals in some sunscreens that can discolor your extension please take care when using even spray sunscreen to avoid your hair.
COLOR & TONING
Demi or semi-permanent color is recommended if you choose to root or lowlight. If you chose to tone please watch carefully. All coloring done to the extensions should be done by a licensed professional.
Gracie James' extensions are not responsible and will not replace hair for any discoloration that may happen due to swim or sunscreen use. This also applies to any hair that is colored or toned (including purple shampoo).
